The Hawthorn Tea Room proudly presents Tea with Coffey *interactive tea tasting and teaching* January through August, 2010 prepaid reservations required—book early, seating
is limited contact the tea room for reservations (238-9021 or teafriends@qwestoffice.net)
The Hawthorn Tea Room is continuing its tea education classes
with a twist! For 2010, the tea topics will be inspired by the titles of the Tea Shop Mystery series by Laura Childs.
This is not a book club and reading the books will not be a requirement. However, we will have the books for sale in
the tea room and would be happy to start a book club if there is interest in forming one. If you are not familiar with
the books, there are recipes in the back for yummy tea food items featured in the stories. Cathy will be putting her
spin on these recipes to create a light luncheon tea menu for us to enjoy as we sip and learn about the tea topics on which
Michael will be putting his spin! The cost of these classes is $20
plus tax, includes a light luncheon, plentiful tea, and fun-filled learning! Seating is limited so please register early.
Classes may be subject to cancellation due to lack of registrants. Michael is offering an additional series of classes starting at noon on the same dates as our 2:00 tea classes.
Please visit his website for more details and to register:

About the Presenter: Michael J. Coffey can be described with a quote from Samuel Johnson: "A hardened and shameless tea drinker, who has for twenty years diluted his meals with only the infusion of this fascinating
plant..." Michael started taking tea in the British tradition after a vacation in England. After receiving
a Chinese-style tea set from a Taiwanese friend, he took his first formal tea class in 1994. He has been
sharing his love of the history, culture, geography, art, and science of tea in his own tea classes since 2003.
He founded Tea Geek in 2006 to provide accurate and well-researched information on tea. Tea education
programs include public speaking, classes and seminars for tea businesses and other groups, online classes at www.teageek.net, and more. Tea Geek has a membership program and provides answers and research
for tricky tea questions.
